PSYCH K FOR SUBCONSCIOUS SUPER-LEARNING.
Psych K is not the newest electronic music genre. A variant spelling of the word “psyche”; Psych K is a powerful subconscious super-learning program used to change limiting beliefs, destructive habits, and counter-behaviors in rapid fashion.
Psyche: Greek in origin. Often described as the “mind”, “soul”, “spirit”; “the animating force which gives us life”. This is precisely what Psych K’s founder Rob Williams had intended - to create an energy psychology method for mind, body, and soul harmony.
And as it’s often pointed out in Psych K, “we are spiritual beings having a human experience”.
Energy psychology (EP) is a collection of techniques that offer a holistic, mind-body approach towards psychology.
Focusing on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors—not too different from other forms of psychology—energy psychology progresses further by bringing bio-energy systems (meridians in traditional Chinese medicine) to the table.
Energy psychology views mental, emotional, and physical issues through the lens of “bio-energetic patterns” that are interactive and interwoven with the mind-body energy system. Think of mental and emotional trauma that’s stuck in the body, for instance.
David Feinstein, clinical psychologist and proponent of EP, describes energy psychology as “acupuncture without needles."
Differing further from acupuncture, energy psychology mentally engages with feelings associated with trauma; re-imagining events and reshaping our relationships to them.
Some popular forms of energy psychology include:
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)
Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)
And, of course, Psych K
Psych K is a contemporary mixture of neuroscience and ancient mind/body techniques used as a direct way to reprogram the subconscious mind with new beliefs.
Created by psychotherapist Rob Williams over 30 years ago, Psych K has recently begun to trend in the spiritual and self-help-spheres in a big way.
If you’re unfamiliar with the subconscious and it’s importance to you, I’ve written about the nuts and bolts of it here. In summary: it’s our conditioned programming that’s responsible for 95 percent of our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.
Unlike other subconscious programming techniques such as affirmations, visualization, and positive thinking—where the results can be gradual, and where long-term change is determined by the foundation that they’re built on and the practitioners willingness to stay committed to them—Psych K offers a quick approach with lasting effects.
When we make earnest attempts to change (with the above techniques or otherwise) we’re certain to be met with resistance at some point. This manifests itself as stress, exhaustion, anger, and depression. The majority of people jump the self-help ship at this point, leaving the obsessed few to power through.
The techniques designed for Psych K soften this resistance (which is nothing more than our subconscious programming) by creating a “Whole-Brain State”, where both hemispheres of the brain (left/right) are operating simultaneously.
The process of Psych K creates a super learning state (also experienced in the Heart-Mind Connection), which is our brains optimal learning state - allowing us to “click, drag, and drop” new programs in the matter of seconds.
WHY PSYCH K?
Quick, lasting results
Improves self esteem

GUIDED PSYCH K MEDITATION
Founder Rob Williams states that it is impossible to fully understand the Psych K process without attending a workshop, or at least working along side a licensed teacher; explaining that it’s “a process that is interactive and dynamic”.
While there is plenty of information on Psych K online and in Rob William’s book, “The Missing Piece/Peace In Your Life”, there is little publically known about the actual techniques that are used in Psych K.
Below I will take you through the one technique—a meditation—that I am familiar with.
1. Let’s begin by sitting or laying down in a comfortable position.
2. Set an intention for yourself.
This intention is going to act as a mantra for this practice. It’s the new belief that you wish to install.
3. Take one hand and place your palm ony our heart. You’ll take the other hand and place the palm on your forehead.
Creating Heart-Mind Coherence.
4. Now, close our eyes, focus on your breath, clear your mind, and relax.
Just take a few moments.
5. Think of a time that has good, ecstatic, feelings associated with it.
Focusing your awareness on the feelings that you generate.
6. Next, you’ll cross one foot over the other so that both feet are ankle to ankle.
It doesn’t matter which foot is over which, since you will rotate them.
7. Bring tyur arms straight out in front of you, crossing one on top of the other, turning your palms to face each other, and interlacing your fingers…
8. You’ll now draw your fists in towards your chest, flipping the fists up with your elbows pointing down (not pictured)…
9. Continuing to focus on your breath…
10. Lastly, you will say your mantra/intention/affirmation.
Mentally or softly to yourself This should be personal to you. Or, if you are in need of some guidance, check out my post on affirmations.
11. When finished, Rotate…
If you had left foot over your right foot and left arm crossed over your right arm, you’ll now cross their opposites. This is to activate both brain hemispheres, to create a Whole-Brain State.
